2 kid halloween!

Halloween was so fun this year! We had family pictures taken that afternoon, followed by lunch with the fam. My mom and dad came over to see the kids in their costumes. Maddux "practiced" trick-or-treating at our house. My mom opened the door and gave him a bag of gummy worms...He thought that's what should happen at EVERY door!

Maddux was so funny with his costume. He couldn't wait to put it on, but by the time we got in the car he was down to just his hoody and jeans. He would walk along and randomly take pieces off one by one and drop them while he walked.

Here's my Swayzee ballerina. She loved her tutu...to eat it, that is!

Cowboy Maddux! His costume really did look cute!!
(until he refused to take off his hoody and his Braves hat.)

Compromised
(I'm still learning nothing will be perfect once they can pick out their own clothes..Rrrr!)

Halloween Par-Tay!!

Most unlikely to dress up?! Here we are at our friends Halloween party! I was delightfully shocked when Bones came home with his "cowboy" costume. (A hat and some boots) Thanks Mindy for a fabulous time!

Reflection

It's so fun for me to blog about my kids. I hate writing stuff in a book..I usually just forget....and then I can't remember! Anyway, Swayzee turned 5 months yesterday! I can't believe how time flies. I remember wishing Maddux would roll over, then crawl, then walk, then talk...wishing away those precious little moments. As I look back over his 2 1/2 year journey in our family I wish I could get those little moments back.

A friend of mine who is having trouble getting pregnant after 2 kids said that if she could ever have another baby, she would just hold it all day! Whenever I feel lazy or unproductive, I think of that and enjoy what funning things my kids are doing or saying.

At 5 months, Swyazee LOVES to jump in the jumper! She is super wiggly and like to see everything that is going on around her. She's tried green beans, peaches, and bananas likes them all. She rolled over yesterday from front to back and she giggles like crazy! She loves to watch big brother and laugh at everything he does.

She has no teeth yet, but drools on everything. Good times! Now I know why most people don't wear "dry clean only" clothes. My dry cleaning bill is going to be so high!

Pumpkin patch

Maddux was so excited to go on a tractor ride. This is his "new" smile. He's saying "cheese Louise". I think it's so hilarious! I got tired of picture after picture of this cute little boy wearing a hat-no face visible-just a hat. So-I went out on a limb and asked him to take it off, and he did! Without a tantrum! Miracles DO happen...

First pumpkin personally picked by Maddux! swayzee along for the ride. (I thought my arm was going to fall OFF after lugging her in the carseat.)

Smile!! My cute little Maddux!

Uh Oh...Here come the horns!

Friends...I must say it! I was on FB just a few moments ago and a "friend" seriously felt the need to put the f-word (in all CAPS) on her post. I need feedback people!?!?! Swearing...Fine. But THAT word? Please. Her IQ dropped a thousand points in my book.

(Did I just write that?)

UUhhhh, Thanks! I feel better.
(PS. My hubby is gone..no one to vent to except all of you!)

Rewind

I've been having so much fun now that I am not officially working. It seems like everyday is still packed with meetings, to do lists, and busy work. Here's a little rewind of what we've been up to:

Swayzee started eating rice cereal. We're still practicing, obviously! I hate the mess, especially because she can't keep her little fingers out of her mouth...her hair...her eyes... She'll get the hang of it one day!

Maddux painting for the first time. It was interesting to observe him and his color choices. For some reason he was drawn to orange, yellow, and red. He loved it! It kept him occupied for 5 WHOLE minutes! That includes the amount of time it took to convince him to swear something over his real clothes so they didn't get paint on them.

Playing dress up with Swayzee. I was so excited to put Swayzee in this bear outfit. It's been a lifesaver when I take her and Maddux running in the stroller. I was so tempted to put a hot pink bow between the bear ears. The less-vain side of me said, NO!

Visiting Great Grandma. Melis and I slept over at my mom and dads Thursday night to go to a class in Coalville. My dad babysat the boys for us. Thanks dad!! They were all still alive (and awake!) when we got home around 10pm. We went to visit Grandma Irene and the boys had SO much fun playing a bowling game. The people there were equally entertained at watching them playing the game!

Grandma and Melis and Maddux. It was so good to visit her. She loved seeing Swayzee and Lucy, too!

Friday was my dad's 60th birthday! He has banned ALL surprise birthday parties for himself. (Did anyone watch that episode of Monk?!) So, we decided a sign on the fence was good enough. At least the 10 people that drove by that day would see it! Good job Mom and Melis.
Mom and Melis! You are so much fun to be with. Thanks for a fun weekend! My mom is FINALLY getting High speed internet. Now you can actually LOOK at our blogs!
