Too early for LOVE!

Is it too early to be excited for Valentine's Day?
This is the first year I haven't been teaching, so I actually have time to BE excited for Valentine's Day. There's a girl in my neighborhood that always puts her decorations up early. And I mean Eerrr-ly! I drove past a few weeks ago and there were hearts on her door~WHAT!? One of these days, I'm going to beat her to the punch. I have my giant, sparkly heart just a-waitin' to hang on my door. Is before February acceptable? Hhm, I think it's perfectly fine. If it really bugs you, just don't look at my door as you drive by, deal!?!
Anyway, we had a cookie party because it's always more fun to make cookies with friends! Melis and her kiddos came and my mama came, too! So Fun!! We rolled, cut, baked, and frosted. I even found THE cutest long neck cookie cutter, ever.
Of course the most fun is to eat them. Oh, THAT's why people dog-out on their New Year's Resolutions..Valentine's Day! Dang Cupid!
Maddux helped me roll the dough flat. He cut out a few cookies on his very own! They were beauties! He frosted his long neck dino cookie all by himself...GOOOOO Maddux!
(Pretty sure he ate his weight in cookie dough, too!)

Grandma Becky! We used her recipe for the softest, fluffiest, most beautiful cookies in the world! AND she made the most creamy and delicious strawberry-flavored frosting EVER! Thanks mom, you are the frosting queen!

Our Friends!! PS: Luke isn't in this pic. He was too enthralled trying to attach a glove onto Maddux's drill.
It really was hilarious watching the glove whirl around!

because Valentines day is in the middle of February it is very appropriate to put up decorations in January, otherwise you only get to enjoy your decorations for 14 days, someday when I actually buy Valentines decorations I will follow this advice :)
