Easter and eye balls

This is the FIRST year in FOREVER (since I did it as a kid) that we dyed Easter eggs. Being the stain-FREAK that I am, I was dreading it. I had every possible surface covered in newspaper, and plenty of paper towels on stand-by. Maddux loved it. And his eggs turned out so super! We had a friend over that day, and hers turned out super, too!

Pre-dye...get ready poor little egg to be dunked a ba-JILLION times!!

Cleaning up! Our eggs look pretty fabulous! (Look at Shyane's hands...lizard hands! Thank heavens for Google, it came off in just a few scrubs with some shaving cream!)

Look close... there are hives all arounds his poor little eye, especially underneath. Poor little bugger! I hope he grows out of hay allergies, or his cowboy days may be limited.

Easter morning hunt. The bunny hid eggs around the house, and Maddux loved finding them (sword in tow)!

Getting ready for the big hunt at Grandma Carla's. I was feeding Swayzee during this so, I have no pics of the actual hunt OR Swayzee...shoot!

Our Easter run-down:

We started our Easter festivities with egg decorating on Friday. The next day, Saturday, was the DeGraffenried Annual Easter Egg Hunt. THIS, my friends, is the craziest Easter Egg Hunt ever. Bones found a few prize eggs. He thought the "Dad Prize" would be a big one..$11..Not compared to the Mom prize...which was $30!! I guess the mom prize SHOULD be more since she's the one spending weeks and weeks getting ready for it.

That night we ate at Chili's...chips and salsa..need I say more!

On Easter Sunday we went to Coalville to hang out with my family and celebrate my birthday. It was so fun to visit and laugh.

We listened to conference on the way there. The talk that sticks out most in my mind is when the old General Primary President said that our kids should see the savior in US. Me? Really? Does that mean DURING the time I'm yelling at Maddux or after?! I was very thankful for her insights. Each day my goal is to NOT yell at Maddux. Hmmm..Hopefully I'll get there!

Luke and Maddux had so much fun playing together. We had a wonderful Easter and hope you did, too!!
